MMP Family consists of 3 young men all residing in the Gaborone area of Mogoditshane settlement. The three met in 2001 while attending junior high school at Marulamantsi CJSS. Mothusi “Ples” Jackalas, Modiri “M.O.D” Nage and Tebogo “Mzico” Baipidi formed the group after adapting the first letters of their nicknames hence the name M.M.P.

With the family formed and armed with a musical dream they strived to overcome the challenges to succeed in the music industry, their start saw them release their first song and its video Basadi. From bedroom studios and free shows their luck changed in 2008 after an impressive performance at ‘The Resort’ in Pilane that crossed paths with Artist coordinator of Small House Records Thabo ‘Sthibo’ Kgosiemang and producer Kopano ‘Berry Bone’ Boduwe. Little did they know that this would lead them on a road that will shape their artistry journey.

2010 saw the guys professionally record with Berry Bone and the prominent producers T’Dot Makaya and Sthibo to create their debut album Mo Spacing. This album also had production from the likes of BK Proctor and their first producer Drak. This hit infested 8 track album produced chart topping hits such as ‘We are the World’ and ‘Tlala ka Lepantsola’. “Mo Spacing” was released August 2012, officially making them contenders to be rivalled with and equipping the trio for their performing at the 2010 BTV Flavor Dome New Year’s Eve Live program, this set the tone for many more gigs in 2011; All Kasi Family Fun Day with a live band at Lobatse Stadium; they also were the opening act for the Zeus vs Scar at Botswana Craft in September of 2011, and in November alongside Eugene Jackson with a live band at GICC, to just name a few.
